Biographical Sketch:
Of English descent. Son of Demmond and Betsey (Dimond) Bradley. He moved from Vermont to Niagara County, NY with his family as a child. His parents died when he was 8 and 10. He grew up on a farm, working for his support. In 1835 he took a steamer from Buffalo, NY to Detroit, MI, then walked to Marengo twp. in Calhoun Co. He later moved to Charleston twp. in Kalamazoo Co. and resided in the Climax area until 1861 when he moved to Bedford twp. in Calhoun Co. where he owned a farm. In 1884, he built a home in Battle Creek and retired there. He served as supervisor for several years.
