Biographical Sketch:
Son of Geore H. and Submit (Ward) Cottrell. He entered a maritime life on the Great Lakes at an early age. Dring his career he made several sea voyages and spent time on the Mississippi and other southern rivers. He moved to Greenfield, MI in 1868 and managed a stock farm and later grew fruit. He served as justice of the peace superintendent of schools and supervisor for Greenfield. He was living in Cleveland in 1930.
