Born Lesia M. Batschynsky; raised in South Warren, MI. After becoming a college graduate and a registered nurse, Liss started her nursing career in the emergency department with the Henry Ford Health System. Proficient in Spanish and Ukrainian. Worked for 23 years in health care, spending 13 years in the emergency department at Henry Ford Medical Center in Sterling Heights.
