Biographical Sketch:
Of Irish ancestry. Son of Baloris and Elizabeth (Bell) Ford. He wrote literary and art pictorial criticism for New York newspapers before becoming a special art correspondent in London for the New York Herald.. He later joined the staff of the London News. Enjoyed the reputation of being the first critic to publicly recognize the genius of the Glasgow group of painters, then struggling for recognition at the hands on British philistinism. He lectured upon painters and pictures in Paris, London, Scotland and Riviera resorts for several seasons. Served as publisher of Inside America, a magazine devoted to literature, the fine arts and liberalism.
