Biographical Sketch:
In 1997, DeRoche was elected to the Novi City Council. He was re-elected in 1999. A Republican, DeRoche was then elected in November 2002 to the Michigan State House of Representatives to represent District 38, which includes Novi, Wixom, Walled Lake, Lyon Township, South Lyon, and portions of Northville. He was marketing manager for an insurance company and owner a small business.

Notable Facts:
In 2005, DeRoche was elected as the Speaker of the House. Wrote a book: “Highly Functional: A Collision of Addiction, Justice and Grace,” the story of his struggle with drugs and alcohol.
