Biographical Sketch:
He was the 10th child in a family of 13. Won letters in football & track while in HS. Was an active member of athletic teams and won letters in several sports. Admitted to the bar, 1935. Assistant prosecuting attorney of Wayne Co., 1945-1946. Circuit court judge, Wayne Co., MI, 1976-1985; visiting judge, circuit court of Michigan, 1985-2006; was a resident of St. Clair Shores, MI (as of 1996). He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Lions, and Gamma Eta Gamma legal fraternity. Past Advocate of Gabriel Richard Council. Member of Detroit Polio Foundation and Detroit & State Bar Associations. Active in many local, civic,, fraternal, and business men's organizations.
Notable Facts:
Elected to the 87th Congress 2/13/1962, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Louis C. Rabaut; reelected, 1962 to the 88th Congress, serving from 2/13/1962-1/3/1965.
Served in MI senate from 1949-62, resigned in 1962.
