He also served as a journal clerk and Page in the statehouse, was a real estate agent, and judged livestock. Member of a number of local organizations, including St. Agnes Church, the Howell Jaycees, Livingston County 4-H, Livingston County Farm Bureau, Livingston Association of Realtors and Michigan Association of Realtors.
