Biographical Sketch:
He was a teacher, school superintendent, tax assessor, and township supervisor. He was a member of the Lions, NRA, Masons, American Legion, and Michigan Coaches Association. He was a 2004 graduate of the Council of State Governments Midwestern Leadership Conference, Bowhay Institute for Lesgisliative Leadership Development. He was Michigan Association of Health Plans Legislator of the Year in 2006. He was in the Exchange Club Book of Golden Deeds in 2008, as well as a MSU Extension Friend of Extension. He won the Michigan Mental Health Association's Snyder-Kok Award in 2012 and the Michigan Farm Bureau Silver Plow Award in 2013.
