Biographical Sketch:
He is the son of Fred and Doris Jean (Whaley) Durhal. Moved to Detroit at 6 months, and the eldest of 12 children. He worked for the Detroit Housing Commission and he was district director for Rep. Barabara Rose Collins. He erved as Community Resource Specialist for the Michigan Economic Development Corp. and was an Assistant to Mayor Coleman A. Young, Legislative Aide to Wayne County Commissioner Bernard Parker, Deputy Director of the Detroit Charter Revision Commission, Legislative Aide to State Senator Jackie Vaughn, III, Communications Analyst for the Michigan House of Representatives Democratic Staff, Executive Director of the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus, Rent Subsidy Audit Clerk for the City of Detroit Housing Commission, and Executive Director, Virginia Park Citizens District Council. He was the program manager Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church.
