Biographical Sketch:
Son of William and Harrierr E. (Rose) Campbell. For 2 years he worked in a general store in Howell and in 1883 went to work in Detroit for J.K. Burnham & Company, wholesale dry goods merchants. When that business was incorporated under the title, Burnham, Stoepel & Co., he was made a director, later becoming treasurer of the company. In 1910 he sold his interest in the company and bought an interest in the Commercial Milling Co., of Detroit, and was made vice-president and managing director of the company. Was a member of the executive board of The Wholesalers' Bureau since the organization of that body and is an honorary life member of the Michigan Millers Association. Was active in the Detroit Board of Commerce, Y.M.C.A. and several social clubs and a number of Detroit busines houses, and vice-president of the Detroit Show Case Co., Detroit and the Society for Savings, Detroit.
