Biographical Sketch:
Of Scotch descent. Son of Edmund F. and Cynthia M.(Stevens) Culver. At the age of 14, he entered the Detroit police department where he did office work for 9 years while studying law. Admitted to the bar in 1893. He practiced law in his native city and chief assistant prosecuting attorney of Wayne County. In 1900, ill health forced a career change for a time. Engaged in the publishing business as publisher and editor of the Little Stick, weekly satirical newspaper devoted to practical reform through education, and also of the Springwells Tribune. He served on the Michigan State Crime Commission, 1929-34.

Notable Facts:
He wrote Michigan's child labor law. His residence in 1949 was in Culver, KS but he died in Detroit, MI.
