Moved to Traverse City in 1939. Executive with the Scenic Trails Council of Boy Scouts until 1946. Moved to Manistee in 1946 to operate an insurance agency until 1973. He later bought a gift shop. Became field scout executive of the Saginaw Boy Scouts Council in 1936 and scout executive of the Scenic Trails Council at Traverse City, member of the Mercy-Community Hospital Advisory Board, vice president of the Manistee Board of Commerce, secretary of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, president of the Manistee Rotary Club and as district governor of District No. 218 of the Rotary International. Owner of an insurance agency and director of the West Michigan Tourist and Resort Association and the Michigan United Health and Welfare Fund. member of the Masons and Elks born in Northwest Texas
