Biographical Sketch:
Son of James and Mary Jane (Johns[t]on) Armstrong. At the age of 5 years, he came to Detroit with his parents. He was a major in WWI. He was a member of the Michigan National Guard for 14 years and retired with the rank of captain. He again entered service during the world war as major of 2nd Battalion 550th Inf., He was made commissioner of pardons and paroles in Jan. 1935. He was Mason and a member of Veterans of World Wars.
