Biographical Sketch:
He moved from New Jersey to Seneca County, NY with his parents in 1803. He came to Sharon, MI in 1832. He served as a Justice of the Peace in 1836, 1845, 1850 and 1851. He was first Supervisor of Sharon Twp. in 1834 and served in that position in 1838 and 1849.He was elected a ruling elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Manchester in 1846.

Notable Facts:
He built the first school house in Manchester in 1834. During the Civil War 6 of his sons enlisted and went to the front. Father of Rep. Edward Payson Allen.
