Arrived in Oneida, Eaton Co., MI with his parents in 1836. Around 1849 went to Calif., returning in 1853. Was in the foundry business in Lansing 1864-75. Returned to Calif. in 1875 to run an extensive foundry & machine shop.
Notable Facts:
1848/49 organized the first Masonic lodge in Lansing.
