Biographical Sketch:
Of English descent. Son of Ephraim and Triphena (Moore) Baldwin. He taught school at 19. He trained" from 1816-28 in the Massachusetts militia as an orderly sergeant. He also served for several years as town clerk, selectman, and justice of the peace. He was a surveyor for 12 in Massachusetts. Moved from Berkshire Co., MA to Morenci, MI around 1834. He was Seneca twp supervisor 1836-39, 1843, 1846-49, 1854-56 and 1861. He was justice of the peace for 14 years; he was enrolling marshall for the town of Seneca during "the war" Lived in Morenci until his death when he was over 80.
