Came to Tuscola Co.in 1855; established Tuscola Co. Pioneer in 1857. In the mercantile business in Vassar; held various town offices including Postmaster under Lincoln. Removed to Omaha in 1866; member of the Nebraska legislature in 1872 & 1874; Deputy Collector of Internal Revenue at Omahafor five years; moved to St. Paul MN in 1882; later the head of Bartlett, Ridgway & Co. real estate brokers in Minneaoplis.
