Biographical Sketch:
Moved with his parents to central NY when young. His family moved to Lewiston, Niagra Co.NY in 1798 where young Beach witnessed border trouble growing out of the War of 1812. As a young man he became a participant in the struggle. Was appointed Captain as a reward of merit for his services. His parents died in Lewiston. Moved to Springfield, Oakland Co. MI in 1838 with his wife and six children. Lived there two years and served as Justice of the Peace. In Feb. 1841 moved to Bridgeport, Saginaw Co. where he served as Justice of the Peace and Supervisor but remained primarily a farmer. He improved his farm in Bridgeport from a heavy forest.
