Biographical Sketch:
Of Scottish descent. Son of James & Anna Bell. Grad. from Union College, Schenectady, NY, 1836 & emigrated to Lyons, MI. Admitted to the bar & moved to Ionia, 1840; 1853-7 acted as Register of the US Land Office in Ionia. One of the principle surveyors of the Grand River Valley.
