Biographical Sketch:
Son of William and Sarah (Cattrell) Jones. After working for some time for his father, who was in the shoe business, he entered into partnership with his brother in the same line of business, where he remained until 1891. He moved to a farm in Pontiac due to ill health but returned to Detroit in 1893 and became a streetcar conductor [for 20 years]. In 1920, he was an inspector for the board of health. Member of the Masons and active with the Detroit local of the Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees.
Notable Facts:
He and his sister died of asphyxiation in her kitchen.
