Biographical Sketch:
Of English parentage. Son of William C. and Ruth (Bullock) Rowe. He left the farm at age 19 and worked as a locomotive fireman on the Michigan Central railroad at Detroit. Promoted to engineer after 10 years. He was an officer in the Brotherhood of Engineers. In 1908, he was elected chairman of the board of adjustment for the Michigan Central engineers. He was living in Jackson, MI, at the time of his marriage.
