Biographical Sketch:
Son of Eli and Sarah (Yerkes) Martin. He helped on the family farm. After finishing school he taught for 1 year in the district schools of Shiawassee County. He then clerked in a store in Mount Pleasant for a year. He served 3 terms as treasurer of Caledonia Township; 8 years as supervisor; 8 years as county clerk, justice of the peace and 4 years as postmaster at Corunna. Member of the Elks; the Masons; the Gleaners; and the Maccabees.
