Biographical Sketch:
Son of William L. and Mary F. (Simons) Van Antwerp.He learned the printer's trade at the Sentinel newspaper in Sparta. He worked for the Gazette-Times in Pittsburg from 1900-06. In 1910 he purchased the Register in Rockford. He was elected Algoma Township clerk in 1911. He was secretary of the National War Council of the YMCA and served with US troops of the American Expeditionary force in France and Britain in 1918.

Notable Facts:
Two sons survived him. Funeral Services held Jan. 21, 1952 at Eggebeen Funeral Home.
