Biographical Sketch:
Of English descent. Son of William H. & Nancy (Pixley) Seymour. Admitted to the bar, 5/1856 (never practiced); engaged in mercantile pursuits in Brockport. Served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Brockpot for 3 years and a member of the local board of managers of the Brockport Normal School. He moved to Michigan, 1872 & settled in Sault Ste. Marie, where he engaged in the manufacture of reapers & then the manufacture of lumber & in agricultural pursuits. He was vice - president of the First National Bank and president of the Saint Mary's Falls Water-Power Company. He was living in Paddington, England in 1891

Served in both state chambers. Elected to the 50th Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Seth C. Moffatt serving from 2/14/1888-3/3/1889.
