Biographical Sketch:
Of Welsh descent. Son of David and Electa A. (Pettis or Pettier) Edwards. He moved from New York to Illinois with his parents in 1852; in 1853, to Iowa. They moved to Greenville, MI in 1854, then on to Pentwater in 1859. He moved to Southwestern Michigan in 1872. ; was in Allegan in 1873 and Fremont by 1875. Admitted to the bar 3/1870; practiced in Pentwater until moving to Fremont in 1875 & then to White Cloud. He had various employments among which were common laborer, fisherman, and coasting sailor on Lake Michigan, clerk in a store and insurance agent. He served as township clerk, justice of the peace, village recorder, attorney and president, assistant assessor of U.S. Internal Revenue, deputy collector of customs and probate judge..

Notable Facts:
Circuit judge in Michigan 27th Circuit, 1897-98; Served in both chambers. White Cloud is in Wilcox Township, which is referenced in death records.
