Son of Jan [John] and Jojanna (Von Strien)Taught public school; employed at a morning paper in Muskegon MI; in 1902, accepted a position in the Auditor General's Department of the State in Lansing MI; in 1907, worked as a cashier at Michigan State College, later elected treasurer of the college. Chairman of Ingham County Board of supervisors; President of the Board of Ingham County Tuberculosis Sanatorium, alderman [5 years], mayor [4 years] and supervisor [about 16 years] of East Lansing.
