Biographical Sketch:
Came to MI in 1840 settling at Hudson, Lenawee CO. Was a pioneer merchant of that town. President of Village of Hudson 1854 and 1855. Moved to NY in 1862 and was in mercantile business there several years. Changed his residence to Chicago in 1873 where he established to wholesale grocery house of Boies, Fay & Conkey and continued as head of this concern until his death.

Notable Facts:
Born in Massachusetts. Appointed one of Inspectors of the State Prison by Gov. Blair in 1860.
