Education:
Attended the Glencoe public and high schools, and graduated from the Strathroy teachers' training school in 1903.
Biographical Sketch:
Taught ungraded rural school one year, followed by two years as principal of Delaware village school. Engaged in the life insurance business at Hamilton, Ontario, one year, after which he was employed by the Canadian Pacific Railroad Co., in construction and maintenance work until 1911. Moved to Detroit in August, 1911, worked a few months in the automobile trade, then engaged in the contracting and building field until the beginning of the world war. Enlisted in the U. S. signal corps stationed at Detroit in the inspection of motors and parts, Cadillac Motor Car Co. Was discharged in March, 1919. In 1920 he organized and is president of the Ruppel-MacRae Company doing a general real estate and insurance brokers. He has been a special student at the Detroit College of Law since 1922, and specializes in income tax reports, also business counseling. He is director of East Detroit Realty Association, chairman local election board, director north-eastern Y.M.C.A., district trustee N. E. Kiwanis Club, and active in parent-teachers association. He is affiliated with the F. & A. M. lodge, also local and grand lodges I. O. O. F.
