Biographical Sketch:
German ancestry. Son of Henry and Mary (Roenick) Ming. He moved to Cheboygan at 14 and began teaching school at 18. He taught for 55 years while studying veterinary surgery. He was involved in the organization of the fire department of Cheboygan, and was chief of the department for 33 years . He was chief of police for 3 years and held the office of sheriff for 6 years. He was interested in fruit growing and general farming, livery and sale stable, and selling agricultural implements. Served in 1909 as president pro-tem, during the latter session. He has been president of the board of education of Cheboygan city for 10 years and also supervisor of the ward in which he resided for 8 years.
