Born in Northern Michigan where her father, Boyd C. Baird, and grandfather were probrate judges. She was an associate with James R. Phillips, Family Law Clinic. She had a private practice, Baird and Zulakis, P.C.; Ingham County Commissioner; vice chair, Clinton-Eaton-Ingham Community Mental Helath Board; State Bar of Michigan Fellow; Women Lawyers Assoc. of Michigan, Michigan State Bar, Law School for Legislators; National Commisioner on Uniform State Laws; Michigan Sentencing Guidlines Commission; National Legislative Conference; NAACP life member; Legislator of the Year, Assoc. for Children's Mental Helath, 1997; Legislator of the Year, Michigan Asooc. of Chiefs of Police, 1998. Legislator of the Year, The ARC of Michigan, 1999; Board of Directors, United Cerebral Palsy Assoc. of Michigan 1993-95. Elected Ingham County Circuit Court judge in 2000.
