Biographical Sketch:
Son of George W. and Jemima (Guscott) Bolt. He came to America and landed in NY March, 1857. then went to London Canada. In the winter of 1858, he moved to Ottawa Co., MI and lived on his father's farm which he helped clear. He taught district and village schools in Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties for 21 years. He owned a large farm. He served as school inspector, township superintendent of schools, township treasurer, supervisor and county school commissioner. He was worked for the State Tax Commission for 5 years doing field work.

Notable Facts:
He was a township supervisor for 24 terms beginning in 1882.
