Biographical Sketch:
Of German ancestry. Son of Frederick and Charlotte (Allmann) Zimmerman. Admitted to Michigan Bar in 1895. He worked as a bookkeeper in his brother's store before becoming the owner of Zimmerman Brothers, a hardware store in Marine City; lawyer. He was elected city clerk in 1887 for 2 terms. Three years later he accepted a position as bookkeeper in the Marine Savings Bank, of Marine City, becoming assistant cashier. After about 3 years connection with that institution, he resigned his position with the bank and took up the study of law. He returned to practice law in Marine City. He served as Commissioner of Banking, MI, 1907-1911. He was chairman of United Savings Bank, Detroit. Member of the Michigan Bar Association; Oakland County Bar Association; Masons; and Rotary.
