Biographical Sketch:
Son of Robert and Rosenia (Teabolt) Wade.At the age of 14 years, he left school to work in sawmills, lumber camps and industrial plants. He enlisted in the navy at the age of 16 and after serving 4 years was honorably discharged. After his discharge from the navy, he learned the trade of a brick mason and joined the union of his craft. He was a special representative for the Bricklayers' International Union in Michigan during 1918-1919, and has worked as the trade union movement of the state as organizer and conciliator in labor disputes. He has been secretary-treasurer of the Michigan State Conference of Bricklayers and Masons, and served at least 8 consecutive years as president of the State Federation of Labor. He was living in Boonville, NY in 1900, in Flint 1918, 1930 and 1940 and in Fenton in 1942.
