Son of Frederick & Maria (Lange) Luecke. Of German/Prussian descent. Employed as a commercial & railroad telegrapher & station agent; served as a pvt. in Co. A, Signal Corps, U.S. Army, with the Punitive Expeditionary Force in Mexico, 1916 & 1917; during the WWI, Sgt. 1st Class, Co. B, 2nd Field Signal Batt., Amer. Expeditionary Forces, 1917-1919; commissioned 2nd Lt., Reserve Corps, while in Germany. Paper mill worker in Escanaba, MI, 1923-1936. Member of the Escanaba city council, 1934

Notable Facts:
Elected to the 75th Congress 1937-39 Appointed Comm. of Conciliation for the U.S. Dept. of Labor for upper MI & northern WI. Committees:Labor (chair). Sponsored a national bill allowing state compacts re: Gr. Lakes fishing regulations. Senate Resolution No. 18, 1952 Senate Journal, p. 768, reported that he died.
