Biographical Sketch:
Son of Arthur J.(or Andrew) and Harriet E.(Burgess) Houseman. Began farming in Albion township in 1919. Was affiliated with the Grange, Farm Bureau, Farmers' Club, and Mosonic lodge. He served in practically all the township offices; he was supervisor from 1925-34. He was elected in 1933 as a member of a committee of three, to look after the interests of the depositers of the Commercial & Savings Bank of Albion, which failed to reopen after the state bank holiday in February of that year.

Notable Facts:
Succeeded Rep. Vern Voorhees who had died in the Kerns Hotel fire in 1934.
