Biographical Sketch:
Son of Jacob S. and Eunice (Alger) Fancher. Admitted to the bar in 1860. In 1863, he moved to Michigan and opened a law firm and surveying office in the newly formed Mount Pleasant, MI. He served as postmaster; Isabella County prosecuting attorney [1865-66, 1871-72]; was on the board of control of the State School in Coldwater; and promoted railroads. member of the Odd Fellows and the Masons.

Helped found the Central State Teachers College in Mount Pleasant.
