Biographical Sketch:
He was a manager with the Detroit Urban League. He later worked for the City of Detroit as an appointee of the Coleman A. Young administration. He spent the next 25 years as an executive at firms such as MichCon and DTE Energy, overseeing their human resources, case management and collections departments.
He was instrumental in the growth of the THAW and Heat Bank programs. He served as a board member of the Detroit School Board, the Wayne County Child Care Coordinating Council, The Black Child Development Institute, Children’s Aid Society, The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW), and as Director of the Black Caucus Foundation of Michigan (BCF)where he directed programs to strengthen Detroit Public Schools and some charter schools. He also managed Substance Abuse Prevention and Special Programs at the Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion.
Notable Facts:
He helped establish Aisha Schule After School Tutorial Program, one of Michigan’s first charter schools.
