Biographical Sketch:
When he was 2 years old his parents, William and Ellen M. (Brown) Thompson, moved to a farm in Tyrone, Livingston County. In the spring of 1864 he enlisted , serving as private in Co. F, 10th Mich. Vet. Vol. Infantry, until the close of the war. At 24, he entered the ministry, and after a 4 year course in theology, became a member of the Detroit conference. He pursued his calling, serving the church in Ingham, Shiawassee, Baraga, and Delta counties. After the Civil War he lived in Fond Du Lac, WI.
He was living in Centralia, WA in 1910 and 1920. Member of the GAR, Masons, KNights Templar and the Elks.
