Biographical Sketch:
He worked 33 years in law enforcement, serving 31 years with the Eaton County Sheriff Department. He started as a deputy and worked his way up through the ranks as sergeant, lieutenant, and captain before being elected sheriff from 2001-04. He was an insurance salesman, owned an advertising specialties company, a civil process company, and a collection agency. He volunteered with Eaton Community Hospice, delivered Meals-On-Wheels to shut-ins, and volunteered with Area 8 Special Olympics. He was a fundraising-events volunteer for Woldumar Nature Center. He was a member of the Grand Ledge Rotary, American Legion S.A.L Post 42, Durand Union Station Railroad Museum, and Eaton County Farm Bureau. He lived in Grand Ledge while in office.
