Biographical Sketch:
Son of Alexander and Martha Green (Cummings) Williams. Enlisted in Company A, 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry from 1862-65. Came to Michigan in 1865 and worked as a carpenter until 1871 when he began the car department of the M.C.R.R. at Jackson. He served as an Alderman and as commander of the G.A.R. post in Jackson, MI. At the time of his death he was president of the Jackson Corset Co.
