Biographical Sketch:
He came to Thetford Township, Genesee Co., MI in 1843 with his parents, Nahum Newton and Phalle Richardson (Slafter) Wilson. Shaved shingles evenings while attending school until age 21 when he went out on his own. He started clearing a farm. In 1866, in partnership with relatives, he bought a tract of pine land and built a sawmill in Genesee Co. The mill was sold after 5 years, purchased more land in Isabella county and constructed another mill, 1871
