He served 2 terms as mayor of Ludington and was director of the First National Bank of Ludington; vice president of the Cartier Lumber Company and of the Cartier Manufacturing Company. He was living n Grand Rapids in 1920, operating a lumber business.Later, he worked at Notre Dame University
