Biographical Sketch:
Son of Thomas E. and Nancy Ellen (Irwin) Freeman. He moved to Michigan in 1903. Prior to coming to Michigan, he was engaged in the mercantile business and in farming. After locating in the state, he engaged in the manufacture of butter and cheese, farming, and dealing in real estate. He was president of the Fenton State Savings Bank of Fenton; served 1 term as village president of Fenton; and was a member of the board of con- trol, Michigan Reformatory at Ionia, from February, 1908, up to the time of his election as state senator. He has also served on the board of prison industries.
