Son of Burgess Hall. Moved to Gallina, IL, 1835. Appointed Deputy Register of Government Lands in Lyons, MI,1837. Moved around & held various jobs for several yrs. Acted as register of deeds; engaged in land speculation from about 1849-53. Held interests in railroads & banks.

Notable Facts:
His father was a judge & in the Vermont legislature. Mr. Hall was Deputy Register at Lyons, MI; Register of Deeds; Receiver of Public Money; Justice of the Peace of Lyons Township; Director of the Ionia and Lansing Railroad; President of First National Bank; the first mayor of Ionia, 1873. A Mason, an Odd Fellow & Knight Templar, Council of Royal and Select Masters, knighted at Detroit Commandery, No. 1, High Preist in Chapter No. 14; Commander of Ionia COmmandery; Chief Patriarch of Ionia Encampment.
