Biographical Sketch:
Son of Aaron and Sarah (Roberts) Wheeler. Moved to Michigan in1831. He raised a company of about 50 men, and was elected their Captain in the "Toledo War." He was one of the first assessors for Salem Twp and held every township position except constable. Appointed postmaster in 1872

Notable Facts:
Father of Rep. George S. Wheeler. Chapman (W) says he died in 1833 but was 63; also that he was appointed postmaster in 1872. Death record is for 1882; died of heart disease.
