Biographical Sketch:
Son of Neil and Mary (Wylie) Gray. Studied for the ministry for 2 years and for medicine, 3 years. He worked in the Royal Infirmary in Glasgow for a year before emigrating to America in 1831. He purchased land in Bruce Twp between 1834 and 1837. He partially stopped practicing medicine after marrying and became a miller.. He was a commissioner of the Macomb & Saginaw Railroad in 1835. Founder and president of the First National Bank in Romeo. He also operated Cliffton Mills, a flouring mill, near Romeo for several years. Member of the Masons.
