Biographical Sketch:
Moved to Michigan in 1845. Immediatley after graduating from college he was appointed instructor in the literary dept. While working as a teacher, he also attended lectures in the law dept. He was a professor for 2 years at Albion College. Began to practice law in Albion in 1866. Moved to Elk Rapids in 1870. Prosecuting attorney for the county. Appointed probate judge by the governor.
