Biographical Sketch:
Son of Lumam A. and Lila E. Bliss. Served as county clerk from 1918-32; branch manager for the Secretary of State for 12 years. He was manager for the Coleman Telephone Co., 1907-11; chief clerk for the draft board and disbursing officer under C.W.A.; rural letter carrier, 1914-18; chief clerk for the Midland County draft board during WWI. He was manager for the Bliss Abstract Co. at Midland. He helped organize the Midland Businessmen's Association and advocated for a hospital in Midland in the 1940's. Member of the Masons, Elks, Odd Fellows, Kiwanis, Knights of Pythias and the Chamber of Commerce.

Notable Facts:
Elected in a special election held 3/4/1935, to fill a vacancy caused by the death of Don E. Sias. According to House Resolution 124, 1964, he died 4/24/1964 in Midland, MI. Obit. gives birth year as 1886; some other sources use 1885.
