Biographical Sketch:
Son of Indian immigrants. He was a senior consultant to New Economy Initiative, and president and CEO of Michigan Nonprofit Association. He was the executive director of Volunteer Centers of Michigan, and elected to the East Lansing City Council from 1995-2005. He was the East Lansing Mayor from 2005-07. He was part of the Michigan Political Leadership Program in 1997, and a member of the Michigan State University National Student Affairs Advisory Board and the Greater Lansing Refugee Development Center Board. He was an advisory board member for the Michigan Political Leadership Program.
