She was employed by Sentinel-Standard [Ionia], 1998-2000; Michigan Court of Appeals Prehearing Division, 2003-05; defense litigation firm, 2005-06; Cooley Law School, 2006-12; solo law practice, 2015 to 2018 (with pro bono work before 2015). She was managing editor for the Cooley Law Review; interned with the Innocence Project. She worked as a pre-hearing attorney in the Michigan Court of Appeals, a defense attorney and a Cooley law professor. She specialized in family law. She served as an Ingham County commissioner 2012-18. Founding president of Holt Community Arts Council .
